Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) is provided by Junnovate Limited, a company incorporated in Ireland (Company Number 784589), trading as Kodular (“Kodular”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
This Policy forms part of our Terms of Service (“Terms”) and should be read alongside them. The definitions in the Terms apply to this Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy or the Terms, you must not use our Services.
We may update this Policy from time to time following the same process described in Section 4 of the Terms.
1. App Creation
You may not use Kodular to create, compile, or distribute applications that:
- Contain malware or spyware — include viruses, trojans, ransomware, keyloggers, or any code designed to damage, surveil, or gain unauthorised access to devices or data
- Are deceptive — impersonate other applications, developers, or entities; mislead users about functionality; or use deceptive install or update tactics
- Collect data without consent — collect personal data without clear disclosure and user consent, or collect data beyond what the application’s stated functionality requires
- Facilitate illegal activity — facilitate, promote, or enable illegal activity under applicable law, including drug trafficking, fraud, money laundering, or violations of export controls and sanctions
- Exploit or abuse — contain or distribute child sexual abuse material, enable human trafficking, or exploit minors or vulnerable persons in any way
- Promote dangerous content — promote self-harm, violence, or terrorism, or provide instructions for the creation of weapons or explosives
- Infringe intellectual property — infringe the copyrights, trademarks, or trade secrets of third parties, including cloning another developer’s application or using assets without permission
- Abuse device permissions — request or use device permissions (camera, microphone, location, contacts) beyond the application’s stated functionality, or run background processes that degrade device performance such as cryptocurrency mining
- Exist solely to spam or manipulate — exist solely to serve advertisements, manipulate app store rankings, or artificially generate downloads or reviews
- Promote hatred or discrimination — promote hatred or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality
You are solely responsible for the applications you build and distribute using Kodular. Publishing an application means you accept full responsibility for its content, behaviour, and compliance with applicable laws and app store policies.
2. Platform and Account Usage
You may not:
- Abuse accounts — create accounts under false pretences, maintain multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions, sell or transfer your account, or share your account credentials with third parties
- Access without authorisation — attempt to access accounts, systems, or data that do not belong to you, or bypass authentication or security measures
- Scrape or automate — systematically extract data from the Services, or use bots, scripts, or automated tools to interact with the Services without our prior written permission
- Reverse-engineer — decipher, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Services’ software, except as expressly permitted by applicable law
- Disrupt the Services — interfere with or place undue burden on the Services, their infrastructure, or connected networks
- Commit fraud or impersonate — impersonate another user, Kodular staff, or any other person, or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity
- Abuse support channels — submit false reports, misuse support channels, or harass Kodular employees or agents
- Compete using our Services — use the Services to build or support a product or service that directly competes with the Services
3. Resource Usage and Fair Use
Where the Services describe features as “unlimited” or remove specific numerical limits (for example, for Premium subscribers), this means that no fixed cap is displayed or enforced under normal use. It does not constitute a guarantee of unlimited capacity, throughput, or performance.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to:
- Throttle or rate-limit requests, builds, or other operations that place disproportionate load on the Platform
- Temporarily restrict access to specific features or Services during periods of high demand or degraded capacity
- Suspend or limit accounts that consume resources in a manner that negatively affects the experience of other users or the stability of the Platform
These measures are taken to protect the overall availability and performance of the Services for all users. We will endeavour to notify affected users where practicable, but advance notice is not guaranteed.
This section should be read alongside Section 6.4 (Service Availability) and Section 19 (Disclaimer of Warranties) of the Terms of Service.
4. Monetisation
You may not:
- Commit ad fraud — generate artificial ad impressions, clicks, or conversions through automated tools, click farms, incentivised clicks, or any other deceptive means
- Manipulate traffic — inflate application usage metrics through bots, fake users, or artificial traffic sources
- Misrepresent your application — misrepresent your application’s content, audience, or traffic sources to obtain or increase monetisation
- Abuse payouts — provide false or misleading information to receive payouts you are not entitled to, or attempt to manipulate the billing or payout system
- Circumvent monetisation controls — modify SDK behaviour, tamper with event tracking, or otherwise circumvent Kodular’s monetisation infrastructure
Monetisation violations may result in immediate suspension of payouts, withholding of pending earnings under review, and permanent removal from the monetisation programme. Withheld earnings may be forfeited where the violation is confirmed, as permitted under the Terms (see Sections 10 and 22.3).
5. Community
You may not:
- Harass or abuse — harass, bully, intimidate, or threaten other community members
- Post hate speech — post content that promotes hatred or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality
- Spam or self-promote — post repetitive content, unsolicited advertising, affiliate links, or promotional material without prior approval
- Post inappropriate content — post sexually explicit, excessively violent, or otherwise inappropriate material
- Spread misinformation — deliberately spread false information about Kodular, its services, or other users
- Dox or violate privacy — share personal information of others without their consent
- Abuse the forum — persistently derail discussions, necro-bump threads, or misuse categories or tags
Community moderators may edit, move, or remove posts and issue warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans at their discretion. Detailed community guidelines are available on the Kodular Community FAQ page.
6. Enforcement
The consequences for violating this Policy depend on the severity of the violation, your intent, and your history on the Services:
- Warning — for first-time or minor violations, we may issue a notice and request that you correct the behaviour
- Content or application removal — we may remove applications, contributions, or content that violate this Policy
- Temporary suspension — we may restrict your access to some or all of the Services for a defined period
- Permanent termination — for serious or repeated violations, we may permanently disable your account and revoke access to all Services
- Legal action — where we believe there is a genuine risk to individuals, third parties, or public safety, we may report violations to law enforcement or pursue legal proceedings
If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal through the channels listed in Section 7 below. Content or access may remain restricted during the review.
We are not obligated to monitor use of the Services, but we reserve the right to review activity and enforce this Policy at any time. We determine, in our sole discretion, whether a violation has occurred and what action to take.
7. Reporting and Contact
If you believe any application, content, or user conduct violates this Policy, you can report it by:
- Email: support@kodular.io
- Online: support.kodular.io
- Community: the built-in reporting tools on Kodular Community
Please include as much detail as possible: what the violation is, who is involved, and any supporting evidence.
If you believe your content, application, or account was actioned in error, contact us through the same channels. We will review the decision, though the content or application may remain unavailable during the review.
We aim to acknowledge reports promptly but make no guarantees regarding response times or outcomes.
